Food, glorious food ~ Kent Retreat

For those of you interested in joining my Kent retreat this summer you can rest assured the whimsical notes of Oliver! certainly weren't an inspiration for what's going to be on the menu for the weekend.

It's about time I introduced the food-obsessed cook and yoga teacher Chloe Jourdain.

Besides an adventurous weekend of yoga, Tai chi and Qigong, kayaking and wild swimming, I can assure you that there will also be a lot of eating taking place.

Chloe LOVES to cook.

I'm pleased to report she always does so with the seasons and is constantly in awe of how food and bringing people together to enjoy it can nourish the mind, body and soul.

She grew up in a family where discussing dinner ideas while making breakfast was the norm.

Having previously worked hard as a lawyer, burnout forced her to re-evaluate and ask herself what she actually wanted to do - follow her heart (and her stomach!).

She now works as Chef Development Officer for Migrateful, a fantastic charity that trains refugees, asylum seekers or long-term migrants to run cookery classes in their own cuisine.

Talking of spinning plates 🙈 she also teaches yoga at Yogarise in Peckham - head down to her class on a Monday afternoon - and she's recently set up SEED with her pal, Amy.

SEED is a wonderful thing. They organise workshops exploring the mind and body through food, writing, yoga and human connection.

I'm really very excited to have Chloe on board in July.

Stay tuned to hear more of all of her exciting endeavours and to get a sneak peek at some of the delicious food she'll be preparing in July. There is SO much goodness I find it VERY difficult to be of any service at all.

It's going to be a special weekend (I'm salivating at even imagining how tasty the toasty weather will be too). We've got dorm rooms, single rooms and double rooms for you to choose from.

Have a browse and just fire over any questions if they spring to mind.
